ZAHN, Adria

Dopo il debutto omonimo del 2021, i tedeschi Zahn tornano con Adria, album di undici tracce che il trio descrive già dall’esordio come “noise rock”, anche se sarebbe più corretto inquadrarlo nel panorama post-psichedelico europeo e in particolare britannico: non lontani da Teeth Of The Sea, Utopia Strong, Antroprophh, Gum Takes Tooth e in generale un po’ tutto il catalogo di Rocket Recordings, i tre suonano una musica psichedelica che integra noise, kraut, industrial, elettronica. Nessuna di queste sfumature, però, prevale sulle altre: per capirci, i tre parlano di Jesus Lizard e Metz ma l’indicazione potrebbe risultare fuorviante, dato che Adria è un monolite di jam (ben oltre l’ora di ascolto) allungatissime, che oscillano tra stasi elettroniche e l’apertura di voragini space (“Schmuck”), blues-rock industriali (“Zehn”), riff stoner (“Amaranth”). A volte si incrociano post-rock e tentazioni elettroniche (“Faser”, “Kotomoto”), circonvoluzioni à la Tortoise (“Yuccatan 3E”), monoliti post-doom (“Velour”), che rendono tutto affascinante. Diminuite e comprimete un po’ il materiale e il gioco è fatto.
