LABASHEEDA, Listen, The Snow Is Falling

Torna in pista il gruppo capitanato da Saskia Van Der Giessen, autrice olandese che avevamo già incrociato nell’estate 2012 con il full length Castfat Shadow. Lo fa con un ep in prevalenza “acustico” di cinque pezzi su vinile, in tiratura di 200 copie e comprendente una cover, l’indolente title-track (in origine della coppia Yoko Ono/John Lennon), tre inediti e la riproposizione di un vecchio brano, “Black Blood”, ballata malinconica più nuda e delicata rispetto alla prima versione. “Different Places” è breve strumentale dalle atmosfere bucoliche, mentre la conclusiva “Elastic” gioca su una classica variazione sul tema, note pizzicate di ukulele (o almeno cosi sembra) che si ripetono insistenti e voce leggermente modificata nella parte iniziale. “My Instinct” resta comunque la traccia migliore, sofferta, scritta bene e con il giusto tiro. Listen, The Snow Is Falling a conti fatti rimane però uscita di passaggio.
