Cratere Centrale, dell’omonima formazione siciliana, è un disco intenso, fatto di funk, jazz, broken beats all’italiana, ideato e suonato con quell’energia di chi ha calpestato la terra lavica dell’Etna. “I Know My Kitchen” rappresenta pienamente tutta questa energia, con le sue sonorità sensuali e danzerecce. Impossibile non farsi travolgere.

Gabriele Savioli, Poptones > THE SADIES, Colder Streams (Yep Rock, 2022)

Un alone di tristezza avvolge Colder Steams, l’undicesimo album dei Sadies e l’ultimo, ahimè, col fondatore e cantante Dallas Good, morto proprio durante la fasi di registrazione. Da sempre banalmente inseriti nel filone alt-country, i Sadies sono molto di più: il loro suono spazia dal Texas dei Mid Sixties alla West Coast dei primi Seventies (Byrds, in primis), il tutto avvolto da una psichedelia eterea che rende la band di Toronto unica al mondo: “Message To Belial” ne è un perfetto esempio.
