HOT GARBAGE, Precious Dream

Sul versante post-punk, questa volta canadese, esce Precious Dream degli Hot Garbage per EXAG Records, che indirizza il disco a fans of Sonic Youth, Franke and the Witch Fingers and Joy Division. Se non è poi così anomalo trovare fan dei Sonic Youth e Joy Division, diciamo che l’inaspettata componente del terzetto sono proprio i Frankie, che ammiccano a chi ascolta psichedelia e garage-rock. Eppure, gli Hot Garbage sono proprio un mix tra post-punk e garage-psych: una band parecchio casinosa, che mescola gli stati alterati della psichedelia con la cupezza del post-punk. Dopo qualche traccia la band perde giri, la noia sopraggiunge, i fuzz che grattano sopra a tutto stancano, le melodie non sono proprio memorabili: il connubio tra i due generi è piuttosto kitsch. Un disco da archiviare facilmente.
