Trio sui generis batteria-elettronica-visuals, gli svizzeri Dirty Purple Turtle provano a muoversi leggeri tra Neu!, new wave e – azzardo – Nine Inch Nails, in anni in cui il motorik è tornato ad essere figo, pur non avendo mai davvero smesso di esserlo (sentire “Count The Clock” e “Aber” su questo disco). Niente trucchi da studio, dice il comunicato stampa: la musica è pensata per essere suonata dal vivo, con la parte visiva che ti manda in follia. Finché ci si muove su parti soffici, i due strumentisti fanno bene, e va aggiunto che si sente davvero la freschezza live della proposta. L’assenza di una chitarra – quando provano a essere “rock” – pesa ovviamente come un macigno, ed è qui che al momento serve una soluzione. Ovviamente fino a un certo punto, comunque: basta pensare cosa riesce a fare un progetto in solitaria come Author & Punisher. Possono migliorare.
