Nove dischi all’attivo, svariati premi su e giù per il mondo e nuove categorie inventate apposta per Christophe, da “oriental jazz” ad “arabian music”. Ciò che si ascolta in The Long Way Home (scritto con in mente fantomatici legami musico-cinesi) è un intruglio di vetusti arpeggi world music, sprazzi new age e lounge, sballati ammiccamenti a musicisti di culto. Tutto è utile solo per dipingere quadretti sonori buoni come sottofondo per ascensori e per le miliardi di compilation “Buddha Bar”. Di positivo qualcosa sicuramente c’è e non si nega che l’apertura a schemi new age o “pop” delle ultime uscite di – ad esempio – Emeralds o Bon Iver abbia fascino. In questo caso no: The Long Way Home rischia solo di fracassare palle o causare sonnolenza.
