Belong: ristampa di October Language in arrivo su Spectrum Spools (“Red Velvet Or Nothing” in ascolto)

Turk Dietrich (anche nei Second Woman) e Mike Jones sono i Belong, un duo attivo a New Orleans il cui secondo e per ora ultimo disco è Common Era, uscito nell’ormai lontano 2011 per l’istituzione Kranky.

October Language, l’esordio del 2006 su Carpark, è un album di culto e di difficile reperibilità. Ecco perché Spectrum Spools lo ristampa in vinile, con un artwork diverso (ma che rimanda all’originale). Tanto per invogliare un po’ di maniaci, le copie includeranno una download card che permetterà di prendersi anche l’ep Tour, molto raro e non in vendita separatamente. Per intenderci sul genere, possiamo dire che i Belong suonano una specie di shoegaze ambient (da lì i paragoni dell’epoca con Tim Hecker, ma anche con i My Bloody Valentine).

Come traccia per incuriosire chi non conoscesse il progetto, Spectrum Spools ha scelto “Red Velvet Or Nothing”.
